CPD

Updated legislation was introduced in Queensland in 2021 which recognises Schedule 8 (S8) medicines and other medicines with greater potential for misuse or diversion for illicit use, as ‘Diversion-risk medicines’.  They require additional controls for their prescribing and use.  This module discusses the legislative requirements and recommended safe processes in residential aged care facilities for their management, to ensure they can be safely administered for the health benefits of residents with minimised risk of harm from their misuse.
